Cicca

Ruck: Goldy

Mid: Mitchell (F), Montagna, Macrae, Martin, Hill (Masten to return)
Res: McVeigh, Dal Santo, Deledio

Fwd: Betts, Hawkins, Lecras, Thomas
Res: Daniher, Deledio, Cripps

Mark: N Riewoldt, Everitt
Res: Deledio

Tack: Cripps, Mayne
Res: Macrae

Cicca made the most of his number one pick and has drafted a quality side first up. Goldy is the best ruck in the game and he has a very solid midfield led by Mitchell, Montagna and my boy Jack Macrae. Betts and Hawkins are also game winners, but doubt over Lecras role this season and Lindsay Thomas being an absolute spud has weakened his last two spots. Daniher is excellent backup though and could have a huge season. Riewoldt is his only marker and one can only think Cicca didn't read the bit about tacklers as Cripps and Mayne are clearly the worst combo going around.

Expected ladder position 4/10

Henry

Ruck: Martin
Res: Grundy

Mid: Hannebery (F), Swan, Neale, Prestia, Murphy
Res: Smith, Cripps

Fwd: Stringer, Schulz, Higgins, Fasolo
Res: Cameron (Charlie)

Mark: Paparone, Bartel
Res: Smith

Tack: Redden, DeBoer (Shiels to return)
Res: Miller

Henry has shown that winning the fantasy comp last year was no fluke with an extremely competitive first draft. Led by guns, Martin, Stringer, Redden, Shiels (when back) and Hannebery, his team has very few weak spots. A 2nd tackler for the first 5 rounds ,a shaky forward line, and mid range markers are the only areas for concern in a well rounded side.

Expected ladder position 6/10

Marty

Ruck: Jacobs
Res: Blicavs

Mid: Ward (F), Sidebottom, Jones, Ebert, Cunnington
Res: Hanley

Fwd: Bruest, Cloke, Waite, Brown (Cameron to return)
Res: Puopolo, Reid

Mark: Gibson, Shaw
Res: Newnes

Tack: Mitchell, Blicavs
Res: Ebert

Matt has actually done a pretty decent job of drafting a side here, but he just lacks a bit of depth throughout his mids and tacklers. Cameron, Bruest and Cloke is a formidable forward setup, and Jacobs will no doubt be in the top 5 rucks once again. Mitchell is a great tackler and Blicavs has a lot of promise, however Ebert and Cunnington as 4th and 5th mids with not much backup leaves Mart quite vulnerable. Gibson and Shaw are guns.

Expected ladder position 3/10

Jake

Ruck: Gawn
Res: Maric

Mid: Dangerfield (F), Adams, Ellis, Barlow, Zorko
Res: Greene

Fwd: Franklin, Walters, S Johnson, Moore
Res: Casboult

Mark: McDonald, Whitfield
Res: Docherty

Tack: Robinson, Townsend
Res: Barlow

Jake has drafted a risky team with picks like Gawn, Franklin, Robinson and Townsend all having the potential to have huge seasons or succumb to injury/mental health issues or just being absolute spuds. The Dentists have a very solid midfield, especially if Barlow can turn his form around after a below par season. S Johnson and Moore could go either way, but Franklin and Walters should be able to slot a few goals between them this year. If Gawn stays fit Jake will be in contention, even with an average marking department.

Expected ladder position 4/10

Lobby

Ruck: Griffin (Sandilands back R2)

Mid: Parker (F), Gaff, Shiel, Wallis, Wines
Res: Greenwood, S Gray

Fwd: Tex Walker, Dixon, Jenkins, Petrie
Res: Vardy

Mark: McGovern, Hansen
Res: Tomlinson

Tack: Viney, Stevens
Res: Curnow

Unbelievably, Lobba has had an absolute stormer of a draft, starting off with Sandi and then never putting a foot wrong. The "Choobs and Hoobs" have potentially the biggest power forwardline in KFL/MUMFL history, with 4 big bustling blokes ready to kick some HUGE bags in 2016, with GOV being a chance to feature should be play forward this season. The forwards are complemented perfectly by a stellar tackling division, led by the next big thing in tackling, Viney, and Koby "I'll tackle anything to keep my spot" Stevens. Just when you think all the positives are over, a quick look at the mids will show they haven't been sacrificed either, with 5 young guns ready to take their game to even loftier heights. It's hard to say but somehow Lobba has produced the draft of the century in a memorable first crack.

Predicted ladder position 1/10

(may aswell give him the cash now)

Puff

Ruck: Tippett
Res: Sinclair, Witts

Mid: Fyfe (F), Goddard, Vince, Bennell, Harvey
Res: Crisp, Bell

Fwd: Kennedy, Bruce, Elliot, Redpath
Res: Sinclair?

Mark: Boyd, Dempster
Res: Goddard

Tack: Swallow, Picken (O'Meara if he ever gets on the park)
Res: Hartlett, Ziebell

Despite my completely honest and unbiased warnings about not taking a ruck round 1, Puff decided to take Kennedy with his first pick, which started a night which I imagine was very frustrating for the oldest member of MUMFL. Bennell and Harvey as starting mids has trouble written all over it, and there is virtually no midfield depth, especially if a marker goes down and Goddard is needed there. Elliot as a 3rd forward is also worrying, and the dragons will need JK to win another Coleman medal to have any hope of seeing finals. Tippett has the potential to be serviceable, but very rarely do rucks that share the workload with a teammate score well. The shining (albeit dimly, flickering like it's about to die) light in Jason's side is his tackling department with Swallow and Picken. Picken could have been snapped up a few rounds later but is nevertheless solid and if O'Meara gets back to his 2014 form it will be pick of the draft. Will need to trade tacklers to have any hope.

Predicted ladder position 8/10

Jomo

Ruck: Burger (If named)
Res: Nicholls, Currie

Mid: Treloar (F), Shuey, Caddy, Miles, Gibbs
Res: B Crouch, Sheed, Duggan

Fwd: J Riewoldt, Darling, Garlett, Dickson (Roughead when back)
Res: Patton

Mark: Wood, Enright
Res: Weitering

Tacklers: Rockliff, J Selwood
Res: Caddy

Jomo also declined to listen to my advice and not pick a ruck r1 but has good options Burger and the Gold Coast combo who shouldn't play in the same side together which is desirable from a hit out standpoint. Rocky is an absolute gun and should have another huge season, even if he starts a bit slow (why would anyone ever trade him). Personally never liked J Selwood as a tackler as he can be very inconsistent but Caddy is a good backup and could go BANG this year. The Farmhouse will be happy to have an extremely good marking division and a solid-but-rat-like forwardline, that will welcome Roughie back in the middle of the year. Jomo's side is really let down by it's shockingly poor midfield, which lacks any decent MUMFL relevant mids apart from Treloar. Mids are "dime a dozen" so I'm sure he will be able to strengthen the department through trades and the waiver wire. Definitely not as bad a team as the rest of the managers are harping on about, but playing finals will require some good trades.

Predicted ladder position 8/10

Pookie

Ruck: Nic Nat
Res: Smith

Mid: Kennedy (F), Armitage, Pendlebury, Thompson, Gray
Res: Hunter, Bontempelli

Fwd: Lynch, Vickery, Hill, Rioli
Res: Boyd

Mark: Mackie, Westhoff
Res: Ibbotson

Tack: Steven, Bontempelli?
Res: Weller

Pooks first draft went surprisingly well considering the lack of AFL Fantasy sports I believe he has had. Obviously PK brings a strong statistical analysis background to the table and he has nailed down his AMAZING midfield, which has exceptional versatility with flex and some extent tacklers. Whether or not this will work we will have to find out, as KFL/MUMFL experience would dictate that when you play someone as a tackler they get 35 possies and 2 tackles so you chuck em in the mids and they get 20 possies and 13 tackles (trust me I had Steven last year). Get those choices wrong and you'll have a very frustrating year. The great mid means the forwards have been sacrificed and I'll have to say this is the worst forwardline so far, just scraping in under Henry's. Boyd needs to have a breakout season. Nic Nat is solid as a ruck, and could finish top 5 for the season, and Mackie and Westhoff will do the job as markers for the time being. PK hasn't taken any out-and-out tacklers and will have to bare Steven's hauls of 3 and wait for the 13's for him to even out as a good pick. Not really sure who is going to play 2nd tackler. Hunter/Ibbotson/Brayshaw are all good picks and will give Pooks some ammo at the trade table.

Predicted ladder position 5/10

Orban/Neil (Andy)

Ruck: Lobbe
Res: Longer

Mid: Lewis (F), Mundy, Boak, Cotchin, Laird
Res: Duncan, Hall

Fwd: Gunston, Wingard, Pavlich, Clark
Res: Walker, Taberner

Mark: Johnson, Lynch
Res: Fisher

Tack: Priddis, Jack
Res: Lobbe

Orban was always going to draft a competitive side given that he had Neil helping him and Andy's spreadsheet, but given he is just looking at random names and numbers as he doesn't follow AFL it sort of evens out. There were always going to be elite players going late r1 with everyone running scared of missing out on a ruck and Priddis at 9 is awesome. Lobbe's numbers from last year are sure to increase with Ryder gone, but by how much is debatable. With Kieran Jack being very inconsistent from year to year don't be surprised to see Longer leading the ruck dep and Lobbe being sent down to grab some jumpers with Priddis. In the forwards Gunston and Wingard are very good without being elite, while Pavlich and Clark have more chances of marking goals in the crowd than kicking them themselves. Walker and Taberner also offer hope, but goals wins you games, not hope. Very solid mid section, especially if Hall continues his recent form and can take Trent "yo-yo" Cotchin's spot. A couple of things need to go right for the Balla-less "Ballas" to be contenders, and I suggest they trade for him straight away so they have a docker forward who might actually kick some goals.

Predicted ladder position 3/10

West

Ruck: Mumford
Res: Kruezer

Mid: Ablett (F), Hodge, Dalhaus, Motlop, Coniglio
Res: Rischitelli, Z Merret, Billings??

Fwd: Hogan, Menzel, Heeney, Henderson
Res: (If Menzel, Heeney and Henderson are starting you could have anyone in the comp as a reserve)

Mark: Taylor, Duryea
Res: Watts, Macmillan

Tack: Libba, Sloane
Res: Steele, Merret, Coniglio

If West wasn't opening the batting for me in a GF this weekend I would be a lot more harsh, but here's trying to keep his hopes up. Probably the worst forwardline I have ever seen post-draft. Hogan is a gun but still young, Menzel has played like 4 games in 4 years, Heeney WAY too early for a 2nd year player that isn't really a forward, and I'm not even going to start on Henderson. I've looked through his list looking for a good forward who didn't play last year that I might have overlooked (like Libba), but nope there's nothing. Okay so after that absolute disaster it gets slightly better. Libba is a GUN, should be top 2 tackler this year and I'm surprised Orban didn't get the nod from Neil to take him. Sloane has potential to be elite but even if he isn't, one of Steele, Merret or Coniglio should improve enough to take the spot. Mids are another area of concern. Motlop and Coniglio are guys you generally can't count on and if Ablett is missing West will have a lot of headaches. Mummy is an absolute jet but you can only count on him playing 10-15 games so that might cause some problems too. The only win, however small, the Jumbucks have had is in the marking department with Taylor and Duryea (sort of). I've seen decent sides be drafted from pick 10 but I can't say this is one of them. However I am confident West will take advantage of his less mentally tough mates in Henry and Jake with some good trades, and once he figures out how it all works I expect him to be very active in the market.

Predicted ladder finish 8/10
